Missing data

• In the released states, some villages have no name, LGD code, taluk or category in the source. Each state lists its gaps below the district list, and blank fields show as not in source.
• Some district names are spelled more than one way in the source, so they appear as separate districts.

Notes

• Thin lines inside a state are taluk boundaries and thicker ones are district boundaries. Both follow the village boundaries.
• Zoomed out, boundaries are simplified so large states load quickly. Zoom in and every surveyed point loads. Use the map for reference, not for legal or survey work.
• For developers: /api/village/<LGD code> gives a village's details and bordering villages as JSON, and links to its full boundary as GeoJSON. See /api.
• The LGD code is the government's village identifier. It links this map to Census and other datasets. You can search by LGD code to find villages that have no name.
• All borders come from the Survey of India. The grey outlines of unreleased states are from its state boundary database.
